PHILIPSBURG–Tropical Shipping and Caribtrans have been working hard to ensure that their operations continue even though their warehouse was damaged by a fire on Thursday evening.

According to a Tropical Shipping press release on Friday, their vessels will sail and work in the port on a normal schedule. Less-than-container-load cargo will be delivered on the island as it is normally delivered.
Caribtrans also announced that its schedules will resume as normal and shipments will resume with arrivals on Wednesdays and Fridays. Customers with inquiries can contact its office next week. For contact information, see the Caribtrans ad on page 6.
Tropical Shipping office’s operations will resume next week and cústomers are encouraged to contact Island Manager Keyla van Heyningen-Bertrand via telephone (721) 520-1831 or Sales Manager Benjamin Alexandro Peterson at (721) 520-1827.
“Tropical Shipping values the close relationships we have built with our customers throughout our more than 50-year history. For further information, contact Tropical’s local sales representative at 721-542-5540 or the U.S. Customer Service Team at 561-881-3999,” the company said in a release on Friday.
