ANGUILLA–On Saturday, July 27, couples from the six government primary schools will be competing in the Prince and Princess show. The contestants will introduce themselves in a speech lasting up to three minutes. There will be a talent segment for up to five minutes and an appearance in evening wear that has strict rules for the girls, including no make-up, no hair extensions, no strapless dresses, and clothing appropriate for a primary school child. The dress code for the boys is formal evening wear.
Nyrobie Selkridge and Destin Webster will be representing the Valley Primary School, Timarqus Connor and Timeasha Connor, the Orealia Kelly School and Jayden Hughes and Tajaynae Rogers for Adrian T. Hazell. The Vivian Vanterpool School will be represented by Eukie Thomas and Tasheki Adams, with Lacoya Carmont and Chadero Kent from Morris Vanterpool and Teah Heyliger and Ethan Connor from Alwyn Allison Richardson Primary.
There are some great prizes for all the contestants. The winners will receive US $350 and an Education Savings Fund of US $1,500 as well as two cellular phones. First runners-up will get US $250, a round-trip ferry ticket to St. Martin on De Luxe and two Bluetooth speakers. Second runners-up will get US $150, two wireless headphones and a round-trip ticket to St. Martin on Excellence. All the contestants will be given an electronic tablet, jewellery, T-shirts, school supplies and more.
