Two state secretaries and 1 minister on working visit | THE DAILY HERALD

PHILIPSBURG–Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management Cora van Nieuwenhuizen, State Secretary of Social Affairs and Employment Tamara van Ark and State Secretary of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops will be paying a working visit to St. Maarten, Saba, St. Eustatius and Bonaire from Sunday to Thursday, January 6-10.

The visit will start in St. Maarten on Sunday. The delegation will be in Saba on Monday, in St. Eustatius on Tuesday, and will be closed off in Bonaire on Wednesday and Thursday.

Their visit focuses, among other things, on the reconstruction of the Windward Islands, renovation and renewal of major infrastructural projects, and the fight against poverty in the Caribbean Netherlands.

The minister and state secretaries who are responsible for these topics will be able to see for themselves during the visit which developments and challenges the islands are confronted with. With the information thus gathered they are to determine the best way for The Hague to anticipate this.

The delegation, which is headed by Knops, will have several meetings and will visit different locations. This visit fits in the coordinating role of the state secretary of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations in visiting the Dutch Caribbean together with the subject-specific minister and state secretary.
