PHILIPSBURG–The pro-forma hearing in the “Mars” investigation involving the murders of S. Sarante-Diaz and E. Rosario took place in the Court of First Instance on Thursday.

Suspects K.K.K.S. and T.J.F. appeared in court to hear what they are being accused of. Escaped convict Kathron “Kuchi” Fortune is also a suspect in the case, but has not yet been recaptured, according to the Prosecutor.

Both victims were last seen on Monday afternoon, December 5, 2016, in the vicinity of Simpson Bay Resort at Pelican. Nothing has been heard from them since then.

The attorney defending the suspects requested that their detention be suspended, but the judge refused the request. Both will remain in jail while the investigation is ongoing.

The suspects were arrested in the Belvedere area on February 16, 2017, in the presence of a Judge of Instruction.
