ST. PETERS–Police were faced with a third murder within four days, this time on Soursap Road in St. Peters. Alrico Daulphin, known to many as “Rico,” was shot by an unknown shooter after 12:00am Sunday.
“Emergency Dispatch received several calls about gunshots being fired. Immediately several police patrols, paramedics, detectives and Forensic Department were sent to the scene to investigate what had taken place,” Police spokesman Chief Inspector Ricardo Henson said in a release to the media on Sunday.
“On the scene the investigating officers located Daulphin lying on the street next to his car. The victim was bleeding from gunshot wounds and not showing any signs of life. Immediately the area was closed off and a crime scene was established. Forensic Department was sent to the scene to collect evidence and detectives were speaking to potential witnesses.”
Omar Jones was gunned down by a fellow inmate at the Pointe Blanche prison on Wednesday August 31. Alexandro Hodge was stabbed Thursday by F.B., who is currently in police custody. Hodge died at the scene in Dutch Quarter.
In addition to the three murders, Darrnel Thomas was shot in the left leg in St. Peters on Friday by an unknown shooter who is still on the run. Thomas suffered a minor injury and was discharged from the hospital the next day.
