According to police, the vehicle was returned to its owner only after all large speakers, amplifiers, and other electrical components were dismantled under supervision at the Philipsburg police station.

“Before the vehicle was returned, KPSM supervised the process at the police station, during which all large speakers, amplifiers, and other electrical components used for the excessive music were dismantled with the order from the Prosecutor’s Office,” the St. Maarten Police Force (KPSM) stated in a press release.

The police are warning that any vehicle owners who install high-powered sound systems and use them to cause noise pollution will face similar consequences. These include fines, arrest, confiscation of the vehicle, and the forced removal of sound equipment.

KPSM said it remains committed to enforcing noise nuisance laws and maintaining peace and safety in the community, especially during late-night and early-morning hours.

Residents are encouraged to report disturbances or violations by calling the police at +1 721 542 2222 or using the anonymous tip line at 9300.
