Visitors help clean beach   | THE DAILY HERALD

Nature Foundation organised a beach clean-up with visitors and other volunteers on Belair beach.

The group collected 450 pounds of trash, including many single-use plastics such as plastic bottles, straws, cups, bags and also cans, glass bottles, hurricane debris and other garbage items. The group learned about the negative impacts of single-use plastics on marine life and the environment and how they can reduce their own plastic output by using reusable and biodegradable products. Each participant received a reusable bag and gloves from Nature Foundation. All bags were weighed using the Trash Tracker method of 4Ocean to record of the amount of trash collected from the beach.
