Wall collapses on construction worker | THE DAILY HERALD

PHILIPSBURG–A construction worker died after a wall being worked on collapsed on him at his workplace in Pointe Blanche at 11:15am Sunday.

Police patrols were sent to Goldfinch Road to investigate the case.

On scene, the investigating officers encountered the lifeless body of a man identified as J.R. (54) from Haiti. According to witnesses, the victim was busy with the demolition of a wall on the site when a section of the wall broke off and fell on top of him. Dr. Perk came to the scene and pronounced the death of the victim.

Police forensic investigators and the Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure VROMI Inspection Department are investigating the matter to determine the exact cause of this accident.

The victim’s body was transported to Royal Funeral Home.
