Windward Islands Emergency Medical Services (WIEMS) received a 2013 Ford gasoline VB Ambulance recently, donated by Mark Majors of Med Express Ambulance in Melville, Louisiana.
Micaela Hart and Joanna Rijnboutt met Majors and his daughter Naomi at the International Conference on Disaster Medicine and Hurricane Resiliency at American University of the Caribbean (AUC) in March 2019. Majors learned about WIEMS’ challenge to replace its 19-year-old ambulance and offered his assistance. He also put on new tires, brakes, belts, alignment, plugs and wires; provided the unit with training equipment and medical supplies; and delivered it vehicle to the port in Miami. “We cannot express how grateful we are to Mr. Mark Majors for this very generous donation. WIEMS will now be able to keep serving our community at events large and small, and during times of disaster,” stated WIEMS President Maria Chemont on Tuesday.
