Youngsters participate in junior business programme | THE DAILY HERALD

Class teacher Lisa Wilson of HalleluYah Ambassadors presented certificates to Junior Kingdom Entrepreneurs Jayvony Ranglin, Jamari Ranglin-Carty, Ethan Richardson, Gelisa Peynado, and Geovanni Peynado.

PHILIPSBURG–HalleluYah Assembly of Messianic Believers conducted a Kingdom Business Summer Programme with its junior class recently and five children ages three to ten years received small investments to start their own businesses for two weeks.

At the end of the two weeks, the children returned the investment and reported profits ranging from five to 32 times their initial funds. The children engaged in selling arts and crafts, cupcakes, ice cream, popcorn, and drinks.

With the guidance and assistance of their parents, the mini-entrepreneurs realised their successes. The lessons learnt covered budgeting, cost-pricing, customer service, marketing and self-confidence.

Nine-year-old Gelisa Peynado of Miss Amy’s Delightful Treats summarised her experience by stating, “I learnt that if you try to do your best, you can be happy with your results, and keep on doing what you love.”

The young businesspeople were met with positive support from the community, including a donation from Kooyman for a new cooler to Ethan Richardson of Ethan’s Ice Teas. The other business projects were Antonio’s Express by Geovanni Peynado, Jayvony’s Art and Crafts Workshop by Jayvony Ranglin, Jamari’s Natural Ice Pops by Jamari Ranglin-Carty.

These young entrepreneurs will be highlighting their skills at the street fair “Koop Avond” on Front Street this Thursday. They are excited to continue with their enterprises, bearing the Bible verse Deuteronomy 28:13 as their motto.
