Prime Minister Mercelina said Constitution Day provides an opportunity to reaffirm the country’s commitment to the rule of law, respect for one another and the democratic principles upon which St. Maarten is built.

He stressed that peace and prosperity depend on the willingness of the community to work together for the well-being of everyone who calls St. Maarten home.

The Prime Minister, on behalf of the Government, is extending the invitation to representatives of public institutions, religious organizations, community groups, the business sector, young people and residents across the country to participate in the service.

The gathering will also provide an opportunity to offer prayers for St. Maarten, its leaders and its people, while reflecting on the importance of unity, cooperation and shared responsibility in the continued development of the country.

“As we commemorate Constitution Day, we come together not only to reflect on the foundation of our country, but also to renew our commitment to building a peaceful, united and prosperous St. Maarten,” Prime Minister Mercelina said.

The Government encourages residents to join the Constitution Day Church Service and take part in what will be a national moment of faith, fellowship and reflection.

The service begins at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, at SS. Simon & Jude Anglican Church, Backstreet, Philipsburg.
