GREAT BAY--The St. Maarten Sports Federation (SMSF) is inviting qualified and motivated individuals to join its team as the organization moves to strengthen the development, coordination and promotion of sport across St. Maarten.

The Federation has announced openings for a Sports Director, Executive Treasurer and Social Media & Marketing position, with applications closing on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

The Sports Director will play a central role in the day-to-day operations of SMSF and in advancing the development of the country’s sporting sector. Responsibilities include supporting and strengthening member federations, coordinating national team programs and other sector initiatives, developing grants, sponsorships and partnerships, and driving strategic planning, reporting and sport development.

SMSF said the position is intended to help bring greater coordination to the work of sporting organizations while supporting initiatives that can contribute to the long-term growth of athletes, national teams and member federations.

The Federation is also seeking an Executive Treasurer, which is a volunteer board position. The successful candidate will help safeguard the organization’s finances and strengthen accountability across St. Maarten sport.

Responsibilities will include overseeing SMSF’s income, expenditure and approved budget, coordinating budgeting, subsidy requests and financial reporting, strengthening financial controls and compliance, and supporting grants, corporate partnerships and sponsorships. The Executive Treasurer will also contribute to the Federation’s broader objective of developing a financially sustainable sporting sector.

A third opening is for Social Media & Marketing, also a volunteer position. The role will focus on increasing the visibility of St. Maarten sport, its athletes, teams and member federations.

The successful applicant will support SMSF branding across digital platforms, create social media content, graphics and short-form video, highlight the achievements and activities of athletes and sporting organizations, and assist with campaigns, events and community outreach. The position will also support the Federation’s efforts to further professionalize its communications.

Through the recruitment drive, SMSF is seeking to build additional capacity in areas considered important to the development of organized sport, including administration, financial accountability, communications, partnerships and support for its member federations.
