Simpson Bay, Sint Maarten – This morning the students of the Milton Peters College (MPC) that are part of the Kidz at Sea Build Your Future Program, reached another milestone in building the Didi 26 sail boat when moving the boat out of the class room onto a trailer, lifting it up together.

Tomorrow the boat will be transported from MPC to Sint Maarten Shipyard in Simpson Bay for completion of the final construction stages. The students have worked incredibly hard since March 2015, building the boat from scratch, learning important skills in the process.

To confirm the importance of this project and to show how proud the students can be of their achievements, the boat and students will be transported to Sint Maarten Shipyard under police escort at 10am Wednesday morning. At Sint Maarten Shipyard the deck plates, rigging, keel bulb and mast will be installed to finalize the Didi 26.

A big thank you goes out to Jeff Boyd for allowing the boat to be stored at the Sint Maarten Shipyard until completion.
