GREAT BAY, Sint Maarten (DCOMM) – The Ministry Tourism, Economic Affairs, Traffic and Telecommunications (Ministry TEATT), would like to inform that businesses in Philipsburg will be able to open on New Year’s Day.

Four cruise ships are scheduled to be in port on January 1st, 2016.

Businesses are permitted to remain open on the aforementioned day until 6.30pm.  A previous announcement published on Thursday, December 19, 2015 has been amended.

All businesses who choose to open on this day – January 1st, 2016 – as part of this exemption, must adhere to all labor regulations.
