PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The police department is presently investigating a stabbing incident which took place on December 28th at approximately 06.00 a.m.  at a home Back Street.

According to report is that the female victim was attacked by an intruder after he had gained access to the house. When the suspect realized he was caught he pulled a knife and attacked the female stabbing her numerous times and demanding money from her.

When suspect realized he did not succeed he fled the scene. The victim was treated on the scene by paramedics and then taken to the Medical Center for further treatment where she remains in stable condition and for observation.
