Philipsburg, Sint Maarten ––  On Thursday 10th December, In keeping with Minister Lee’s desire for Government and Government affiliated entities to be more open and transparent, the board of the SZV has decided to emulate the Minister’s public recruitment methods for finding the best possible candidates for 3 vacancies on the board of the SZV.

The primary task of the Supervisory Board is to monitor the policy pursued by the Director, the Director’s performance of its managerial duties and the company’s general course of affairs, taking into account of the interests of all the company’s stakeholders as well as overseeing the funds entrusted to the organization. .

The opening of a public vacancy for new board members is in line with SZV 3.0 as SZV aims to become a more transparent and professional organization. The Supervisory Board members, in their advisory role, will function in the interests of the customers, staff and external stakeholders and be responsible for good quality governance.

According to Minister Lee” the SZV plays such a critical role in our community, finding the most motivated and capable board members is critical to the stability of the countries only institution that SZV is exclusively responsible for the implantation of Social and Health Insurances for the Country of St. Maarten. I am thrilled to find that openness and transparency is contagious.  I commend the board and its interim director, Glen Carty, for being open in its search for board member candidates.”
