Cayhill, Sint Maarten — On Saturday November 28th, Minister of Education Culture Youth & Sports The Honorable Silveria Jacobs opened the Annual Rights of the Child Sports Day that was organized by the Department of Youth Affairs. The Annual Sports Day brings together both Dutch and French youth of Sint Maarten along with youth from Anguilla, Saba, St Eustatius and first time participants St Barths in a positive and athletic environment.

The annual Sports Day is also part of the Calendar of Events bringing awareness to the Rights of the Child 2015, the theme for this year is “Strong Families Nurture Strong Societies”. Minister Jacobs reminded the participants that the event was a day of sportsmanship, team building and competition among each other.
