Random searches to be held at Festival Village

PHILIPSBURG – In connection with the large number of arrests for the illegal possession of drugs, which have taken place during events held at the Festival Village for Carnival 2016, the Police Department, in collaboration with the Customs Department, will be carrying out random searches with drug sniffing dogs.

These searches will include areas in and around the complex, and at the entrance and exits of the Festival Village. Anyone caught in possession of any illegal drugs will immediately be arrested and the drugs confiscated. The suspect will be taken to Police Headquarters in Philipsburg for further processing.
