PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry would like to inform the members that during the nomination period that ended on Friday   December 4th, 2015, six (6) persons were nominated for the three (3) vacancies on its Board of Directors.

For the Large Business Sector, four (4) person postulated themselves, and for the Small Business Sector, two (2) persons postulated themselves.

For the Large Business Sector, there are two (2) vacancies, and for the Small Business Sector, there is one (1) vacancy on its Board of Directors.

The Election Committee consisted of the following members, Messer:  Franklin Brison, Cleophas Richardson, Myrna Lynch, and Charles Benders.

For the Large Business Sector there were  four (4)  candidates who were approved  for the two (2) positions. The names are as follows:

  • Charlise Philips,
  • Edwin Gumbs,
  • Keith Franca
  • Stanley Lint .

In addition, two  candidates were approved  for one  position for the Small Business Sector. The candidates are as follows:

  • Shasa Lake
  • Sidharth Bijlani (Cookie).

Consequently there will be an election for the Large Business Sector and for the Small Business Sector, the number of candidates exceeded the vacancies.

Therefore, election will be held on December 11th, 2015 from 8:30 am until 12 noon for the Large Business Sector and  the Small Business Sector .

Voters are advised to pick up their voting cards at the Chamber of Commerce & Industry office

These cards will be exchanged for a ballot on Election Day.
