PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten – The authorities are now gaining ground in there investigation into vote buying. The investigation which is called “Octopus” netted further suspects on Friday morning in raids which were carried out by the authorities.
This latest activity is not being confirmed or denied by the Attorney-Generals office. They are only saying that more arrest is likely in this case.
Wednesday the operation went active with the arrest of three suspects, then on Thursday two more suspects were arrested and then again on Friday morning and undisclosed amount of suspects were brought in for questioning.
MP Silvio Matser, Rogelio Koeiman and Eddy Fleming is still being held in pretrial detention.
