PARAMARIBO – Ten behoeve van het stimuleren van de kokosteelt zullen er nog meer trainingen volgen. Het gaat om trainingen die betrekking hebben op de opzet van een kokoskwekerij, juiste landbouwpraktijken, geïntegreerde ziekte- en plagenbestrijding, kokoskwekerij in combinatie met andere aanplant of vee, marketing, en risicobeperking. Voorlichters van het Ministerie van Landbouw Veeteelt en Visserij (LVV) hebben al een training ‘Production of quality planting material (qpm) of Coconut’ achter de rug. De trainingen maken deel uit van het project ‘Coconut Industry Developement for the Caribbean’. Negen Cariforum-lidlanden, waaronder Suriname, zijn in aanmerking gekomen voor het project dat kokosteelt moet stimuleren…[+]
