PHILIPSBURG:--- The law firm representing VAMED Engineering dispatched a letter on Friday morning to the Minister of VSA Emil Lee urging him to be open and transparent about the public procurement procedure regarding the New Hospital. The letter which was delivered to the Minister of September 23rd reads that the company is requesting the Minister of VSA to disclose information based on the public information act.
The letters state that so far despite numerous request both the Minister and USZV have not complied by providing the information they are asking for to render account for the decisions they have taken, which has forced VAMED to take their case to court.
The letter continues to state that they were involved in the evaluation of the bids and the bids were submitted to them. VAMED is of the opinion that both the Minister and USZV are required to insight on INSO’s not only because it is required due to the general principles of good governance that includes transparency but also based on the public information act. VAMED urged the Minister and USZV to provide them with INSO’s bid and or provide the opportunity to evaluate INSO’s for inconsistencies, commercially sensitive information which includes prices.
The letter continues to state that they have taken note that the Minister is in possession of the signed agreement with INSO and the party or parties involved, also based on the public information act they asked that a copy is provided to them including other information relating to the signing, such as emails, and advice.
The attorney urged the Minister to provide the information as soon as possible if not the latest within 3 weeks.
