PHILIPSBURG:--- In recognition of World Diabetes Day 2016; November 14, Miss Mature Carnival Queen 2016 Norrisa Anatol made a generous contribution to the Diabetes Foundation of St. Maarten to go towards their yearly fair that will take place on November 19th, 2016 at the Belair Community Center. President of DFS; Mrs. Lotty Petterson and Public Relations Officer of DFS Mrs. Amanda Wever, gladly accepted Anatol’s donation. Anatol also pledged to attend the fair and offer 2 hours of her time to assist with the much-needed manpower.

“This contribution was made with much emotions attached as my father has been dealing with this disease for quite some time,” Anatol stated. In addition to the contribution, Anatol was presented with a placemat filled with great meal plans and tips to fight diabetes in which she will use to assist her father in controlling this disease.

“I strongly encourage everyone to attend Saturday's fair and bring your entire family along. Quite a few citizens on St. Maarten are presently diagnosed with diabetes so let us continue to educate and be vigilant about this disease, eat healthy and include exercise in our daily schedule,” Anatol concluded.
