PHILIPSBURG:--- In keeping with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth & Sports desire to encourage young people to excel and succeed in all areas of their lives, and further in keeping with the Department of Sports aim to encourage youth excellence in sports specifically, a talent scholarship in the amount, not exceeding, US$ 20.000,00 per year for a period of no more than 5 years, was awarded to Keacy Carty, who has been recognized by Ministerial decision as a gifted and talented athlete, for his accomplishments at the 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh, including being named Man of the Match in the final match.

The Special Talent Scholarship awarded to Mr. Carty deviates from the regular application process and procedure for study financing.
