PHILIPSBURG:--- To begin the high season on the right foot, the Office of Tourism, in collaboration with the association Avenir Sportif Club, organized the first edition of the “Tourism Walk for Health" on November 27th.

The month of November was also Caribbean Tourism Month, which, under the aegis of the CTO (Caribbean Tourism Organization) allows for the celebration of the island’s primary industry. Like the other island territories, Saint-Martin also celebrated this international event which is commemorated every year under the theme “One sea, One voice, One Caribbean”. The Office of Tourism chose to mark the opening of the tourist season with a little bit of sport during the Tourism Walk for Health. The event saw participants, sneakers on, on an early morning hike on Sunday, November 27th.

The team would like to thank the entire population for this relaxing moment which enabled the participants to combine sports and generosity. Thanks to the sale of t-shirts and breakfast, the Office of Tourism was able to raise funds which it donated in its entirety to the association, presided by Patrick Trival, thus rewarding it for its hard work and professionalism. Another rendez-vous in sneakers will be organized shortly... so be ready!
