Pond Island:--- TelCell Breakthrough winners have come out with a brand new wave of inspirational and motivational posters for St. Maarten youths – their first main civic duty since being named amongst St. Maarten’s most talented youths late last year.
The posters can be seen around various schools on St. Maarten, appealing to the island’s youth to work hard at their studies, to be respectful citizens and to follow their dreams.
In one poster outside the St. Maarten Academy in St. Peters, TelCell Breakthrough winner, Diandra Marlin advises her peers to “Never look down on someone unless you’re helping them.”
According to TelCell Breakthrough joint coordinator, Angel Richardson, the posters all carry a strong message aimed at St. Maarten’s youth, featuring young men and women who are already setting out to make a name for themselves in the public arena.
She is especially grateful to TelEm Group’s Suraj Ramdas for placing the posters and assisting with their creation.
“Each year we remind all the youth who want to be Breakthrough Talent Search winners that it’s not only about having a talent, being a star and having people admire that talent. It is also about giving back to your community and using your celebrity for the good of your community, with civil functions and sponsorship of positive messages such as these youth posters,” continued Angel.
The four TelCell Breakthrough winners says it is an honour for them to have their posters carry important messages to their peers and each has promised to promote what their posters say to give even more focus to the positive nature they convey. They are meantime looking forward to some hard work coming up in the recording studios.
Angel said the group will be doing other civic functions in the coming weeks and months as well as performing at various events throughout the year. They will also be recording and releasing their own CD and making a music video and Youtube video for general distribution.
