St. Maarten – Friday, local time 4:15 p.m., the TUIfly Dreamliner landed at the airport for the very first time. As of November 2015 there are holidays and flights offered by TUI Netherlands. Throughout the year, TUIfly will fly to the island twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays.

After the gentle touch down of the Dreamliner, the inaugural ceremony took place. During the ceremony General Manager Arjan Kers of TUI Netherlands presented a special memento to the Minister of Tourism Ernest Sams and the airport management. The ceremony attracted considerable interest. Aboard the Dreamliner there was a large group of TUI travel managers who are visiting the island and are staying at the Riu Palace in Anse Marcel on the French side of the island. Yesterday a second group of TUI travel agents arrived at the airport who explored the island extensively.

Not only for the Dutch vacationers the TUIfly flights are an asset, because the inexpensive tickets to Amsterdam airport, can also be purchased here on the island.
