St. Maarten News – The Lion Rudy Hoeve Health and Wellness Fair will take place on Saturday March 5 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Festival Village on Pond Island.

The Lions moved the event from its usual spot on the calendar towards the end of March because Easter falls at that time, and the organization also wanted to avoid the SXM DOET activities. Now the fair falls in the weekend of the Heineken Regatta.

All the usual stakeholders have confirmed their participation, but there are also three newcomers. The first one is notary Meredith Boekhoudt who will give a presentation about the importance of having a will. Pediatrician Pieter Offringa will speak about asthma and allergies, while pharmacist Dick Luttekes will explain his audience about medication, the administration of it and side effects.

Next to the usual zumba workouts the Lions have added exercise demonstrations to the program.

All screening tests, presentations, information and demonstrations will be free of charge.

TelEm will power and co-sponsor the event.
