St. Martin News: From the reactions of the almost capacity crowd inside the Festival Village in Galisbay late Sunday evening, Farlot Mae-Lys did enough to earn the crown in the Miss Pitchounette category. The same can be said about Shaliyah Ferrol, the winner in the junior category.

The young ladies in each category were awarded 20 points for speech, 100 points for carnival costume and 80 points for princess wear. Among the things the panel of judges was looking for was fluency, content and master of language.

In addition, to the coveted title and the rights for her family, friends and school to brag about her accomplishment. Farlot Maelys, contestant #3 who finished with a total of 456 points also won the prize for Miss Popularity, Miss Photogenic and best speech.

Stephanie Carty, contestant #1 sold the most tickets and was suitably rewarded, she also won the prize for the best Princess Wear and the winner of the best costume was contestant #2, Connor Mickeylie.

Contestant #4, Chanton Tahys was awarded the prize as the 4th runner up with 406 points, contestant #1 Carty Stephanie was the 3rd runner up with 422 points. Benaziz, contestant # 5 was the 2nd runner up with 432 points and the 1st runner award went to Connor Mickeylie on 453 points.

In the junior category, stemming from the reactions from the impressive gathering, contestant # 4, Theranika Abraham won the title as Miss Popularity. She also won the prize for the most tickets sold.

In addition, to the crown, the Miss Photogenic, best talent and best costume went to contestant #1, Ferrol. The best speech award went to contestant #3, Banjanac Lanha and the best princess wear went to contestant #4, Abraham Theranika.

The 4th runner up prize went to #2, Robin Angele, 3rd runner up award went to # 3, Banjanac Lanha, 2nd runner up went to # 4, Miss Abraham and the 1st runner up prize went to contestant # 5, Mussington Ashley.

On hand to assist with the crowning and sashing at the conclusion of the pageant was the 4th Vice President of the Collectivité, Rosette Gumbs-Lake, assisted by the winner of the Miss Pitchounette 2013 pageant, Yuliska Bengamin.
