St. Maarten – Traffic heading out of Philipsburg will soon find some relief as Vromi-Minister Angel Meyers intends to open up the ring road for a one-way out of town. The entrance to the temporary road will be at …..Kitchen.
The current sand banks on the ring road will be adjusted to accommodate the traffic. Minister Meyers said that he will create 200 additional parking places on the ring road as well.
“I encourage shoppers to park there and to walk into town,” he said yesterday.
Opening up the Ring road for two-way traffic – in and out of Philipsburg – was deemed not practical, because the incoming traffic would cause jams at the Salt pickers roundabout.
