ABVO-St. Maarten dispatches letter to Mingo on pending payments to members | 721 NEWS

Adrie Williams, President of ABVO

Great Bay, St. Maarten– ABVO-St. Maarten union representing  the workers at Princess Juliana International Airport Enterprise NV (PJIAE NV) dispatched a letter to Brian Mingo, CEO PJIAE NV regarding their disapproval of unilateral  action by PJIAE NV regarding retroactive payment of pending benefits to their members.

Adrie Williams, President of ABVO-St. Maarten stated in the letter that they are upset with the unilateral decision by management of PJIAE NV informing their members of their intention  to pay a sum of Naf 1000,00 to them without having reached a negotiated agreement between the union and PJIAE NV on the subject.

The letter further states that during the last meeting  between PJIAE NV and ABVO-St. Maarten on November 15, 2019 it was agreed that PJIAE NV would submit to ABVO-St. Maarten, a financial overview of all pending retroactive payments, regarding benefits entitled to their members with a settlement proposal by PJIAE NV. To date such a document was never given to the union, but instead the members were given this unilateral decision.

The union is demanding that PJIAE withdraw their intended unilateral proposal and formally submit to ABVO-St. Maarten the agreed upon financial overview of all pending retroactive payments, of benefits entitled to their members. With a proposal  to be negotiated between parties according to stipulation  in the current CLA between PJIAE NV and ABVO-St. Maarten.

Members of the ABVO-St. Maarten at PJIAE NV are very upset with this decision taken by PJIAE NV and will not accept the untitled payment.  The letter further states that ABVO-St. Maarten together with their members reject the lack of respect displayed by PJIAE NV towards their members and their legal representation.
