CPS Concludes Successful Oral Health Competition

 

GREAT BAY, Sint Maarten (DCOMM) – In celebration of World Oral Health Day recently, a day-care Oral Health competition was organized as part of a week-long schedule of dental health awareness activities.

The toddlers and parents were to submit a colouring page, one coloured by parent and one by toddler. The competition was successful, as more than 40 submissions were received by the organizing committee World Oral Health Day.

The winners of the competition were: 1st place The Bright Start Early Stimulation – Ayden Phelipa; 2nd place Children’s World – Sequoy Smees and 3rd place Ideal Preschool – Mia Van Dijk.

The children received prizes, amongst others placement trophies and medals.

Second graders of all primary schools received a complimentary apple and bottle of water, as part of the week-long schedule of dental health awareness activities.

The celebration was concluded last week when the children received a healthy snack and a bottle of water from the Department of Collective Prevention Services’ committee World Oral Health Day.

CPS is a department within of the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labour (Ministry VSA).

World Oral Health Day is an international day to celebrate the benefits of a healthy mouth and to promote worldwide awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of looking after oral hygiene to everyone old and young.
