Great Bay, Sint Maarten – The Minister of Justice, Mr. Cornelius de Weever has launched a Fines Recovery project where the purpose will be to recover outstanding fine amounts imposed by the Police to individuals charged with traffic infractions.
The fines recovery project is a joint effort of the Ministry of Justice, which includes the St. Maarten Police Force and the Prosecutor’s Office collaborating with the Receiver’s Office.
The general public of Sint Maarten is hereby being notified that there will be a grace period in order to allow persons with unpaid fines to settle it as soon as possible. The grace period for payments will be from September 1stto September 30th, 2019.
Please note that locations for payment of outstanding fines are at the headquarter of the Police in Philipsburg, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Receivers Office Sint Maarten. Payments can be made via cash or card. Be advised that cash payments will only be accepted at Receivers Office Sint Maarten.
The Ministry of Justice will continue to keep the public of Sint Maarten informed on this project as it progresses.
