The Ministry of VROMI / Department of New Projects on behalf of The Government of St. Maarten is hereby informing the residence of Dutch Quarter and the General Public of St. Maarten of the upcoming road closure on the A.T. Illidge Road for the Dutch Quarter Sewerage Project. This road closer is also of concern to the surrounding areas Belvedere, Defiance and Madam Estate with an addition to the traffic circulation.
The road closer will go into effect as of >Monday November 12th 2018 through December 15th 2018, from The Bishop Hill Roundabout to the Nazareth Bridge>. The project will be done in phases to ensure access at all time to the Dutch Quarter District, each Phase will consist of 1 week (see illustration), access to the supermarkets and Dr. Bryson Clinic will be maintain as well.

In full cooperation with the Traffic Police Department we are asking all motorist to please respect the traffic diversion and the notice place for the detour for a smooth transition while the works are being carried out.
This is to ensure safety to all during these times.The works are scheduled to be carried out during the daytime.
The project consist of the sewerage implementation for the Dutch Quarter District. The entire project has a duration of a calendar year and is projected to be completed by August, 2019. The works are in conjunction with the 10th EDF programme with the upgrading of the infrastructure of socially deprived neighborhoods.
