Rogers: Distribution of Voting Cards Continues


PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten721 News briefly spoke with Jason Rogers of the Central Voting Bureau regarding the distribution of the voting cards for the upcoming 2018 Parliamentary elections on Monday, February 26, 2018. Rogers stated that the distribution of voting cards at the various locations went well last week, and now the remaining cards will be distributed via the postal service.

“The distribution of the voting cards in the various locations went pretty well as many persons collected their voting cards as well as the voting cards for all persons that are registered under the same address, now the remaining voting cards will be distributed via the postal service to the addresses,” said Rogers.

Rogers further stated that persons who did not receive their voting cards can go to the Civil Registry office located at the new government administration building 8 days prior to the elections to seek their cards or on the same day of the elections or they can get a voting card at the polling station.

The Central Voting Bureau is ready for the 2018 Parliamentary elections as was mentioned by Rogers. They are currently in discussions with various stakeholders regarding the necessary preparations, such as the police force for public order, ballots are being prepared and the members for the various polling stations are being trained.
