In a message to the public, spokesperson and organizer Chantal Vernusse mentioned the lack of “confirmation of the announced and promised subsidies” for February and then March,” despite the commitments made by the Collectivity. “This lack of response makes it impossible for us to continue organizing the event in a responsible manner,” the statement specifies.
In an email sent this Monday, March 30th, to the elected officials of the Collectivity and the sub-prefect, the organizers expressed their regret at the unfortunate decision but reiterated their determination to continue the event: “We remain, of course, fully committed to exploring the relaunch of the event as soon as the budgetary decisions are formally finalized.” This situation is reminiscent of the 2025 event, which was also marked by postponements due to funding issues. No restart date has yet been announced.
