It’s official, the 1st edition of the Mad Island Festival The event held on March 27th and 28th has undoubtedly established itself as a major event on the Caribbean scene. For two days, several thousand festival-goers gathered in Happy Bay to enjoy an immersive experience, marked by an ambitious lineup and an extraordinary collective energy.
From the opening night, despite being disrupted by rain, the atmosphere was electric. Far from discouraging the audience, the inclement weather reinforced the symbolic significance of the launch. On stage, international artists and local talents alike captured this enthusiasm. The duo Jixels & Hollywood delivered a remarkable performance, while DMT, Tamilya, and Ilements confirmed the region’s artistic vitality. On Saturday, the festival reached a new level. The energy transformed into a veritable display of stage presence.
One of the highlights of this inaugural edition was Kalash’s performance, which ran well over its allotted time, delivering an intense show that was met with enthusiastic applause from the crowd. OSOCITY, true to its global reputation, electrified the audience with an interactive set, while Maureen confirmed her rising star status on the dancehall scene. Tony Mix’s presence further solidified the event’s Caribbean identity. The highlight of this now unforgettable weekend was the appearance of Quavo, a member of the group Migos, which left a lasting impression. For his first time in the Caribbean, the American artist delivered a unique performance, illustrating the festival’s international ambitions.
Beyond the concerts, the diversity of the audience testifies to the project’s reach, with festival-goers coming from all over the region, as well as from North America and Europe. Driven by the impeccable organization of Mad Events and the SXM Festival, the event distinguished itself through its seamless execution and technical excellence. Building on this well-deserved success, the Mad Island Festival has already announced its return on March 26 and 27, 2027, with the aim of establishing itself as a key event on the international circuit.
