LET’S BREAK THE SILENCE / “Liberty, Equality, Sisterhood”: a powerful finale against violence against women | FAXINFO

The week of actions “Let’s Break the Silence”, organized by the CAF in partnership with ALEFPA-Le Manteau, concluded on November 29th at the Théâtre de la Chapelle with a a spectacle of rare intensity “Liberty, Equality, Brotherhood”.
 
Designed by the Ö and Co company and choreographed by the ingenious Peggy Oulerichthis 1 hour 30 minute creation blending contemporary dance, theatre, texts and song It captivated a large audience. As proof, reservations were booked in less than two hours.
A powerful opening and twenty emotionally charged scenes
From the very first minutes, with “J’accuse“by Suzane, performed by…” dancers dressed in whiteThe tone was set: power, dignity, and a clear call to break theomerta about violence against women. Purple ribbon on the wristA symbol of the campaign, the artists presented twenty tableaux depicting the takeover, the fear, the fall, then the resistance and the reconstruction. Upon entry, each spectator received a violentometer, a concrete reminder of toxic dynamics that are often trivialized.
The show offered several moments of grace and shock, notably Luciana’s masterful performance in “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World”Of J, where she plays Adrienne Rodriguez Brown to publicly denounce the singer’s violence. Around her, the dancers reenact scenes of control before she interrupted the choreography of a cry of truth.
Participatory theatre to understand everyday violence
Stateless People They offered a theatrical respite with skits inspired by everyday situations, performed with humor and finesse, where male and female roles were deliberately reversed. Each scenario presented several possible reactions, and the active audience, guided by Audrey, had to determine which color on the violence meter they corresponded to: green, orange, or red.
Between Spanish, French and EnglishThe texts, recited by Denis, Kamel, and Luciana, circulated like a universal red/purple thread, notably a striking excerpt from The cost of masculinity, highlighting the social, human and economic weight of male violence.
A finale carried by an anthem and a call for brotherhood
The finale, a vibrant anthem entitled “In praise of women”, carried by the harmonious voices of Delphine and Elona, ​​sealed the unity of the room. Farah Viotty, president of the company, concluded by calling for a siblinghood real: “a solidarity that says: your freedom is mine, your security is mine, your fight is ours”, a bond of alliance beyond genders.
The emotion, however, never cracked. Notwithstanding two minor technical incidentsThe meeting took shape: CAF benefit recipients, Alefpa beneficiaries, victims and residents united in a single breathFor some, the moment was a liberation. For others, a lesson in understanding.
A standing ovation greeted this powerful and necessary civic and artistic performance, which resonated with all generations and cultures gathered that evening around a common cause.
