The “Break the Silence” week of action, led by CAF and ALEFPA since 2016, will conclude this Saturday with a free performance entirely dedicated to combating violence against women. Entitled “Liberty, Equality, Sisterhood,” the creation by the company Ö and Co, choreographed by Peggy Oulerich, will be presented to a sold-out audience at the Théâtre de la Chapelle.
On stage, the artists will blend contemporary dance, song, spoken word, and theatre by Les Apatrides to explore the stages experienced by many victims: from control to awareness, from fear to speaking out, and finally to rebuilding their lives. This performance will give voice to what silence still stifles, seeking authenticity rather than pathos.
Each painting will explore power dynamics, the memory inscribed in bodies, and the collective strength that enables progress. Siblinghood—a bond of alliance transcending gender—will serve as the central theme of this work, which aims to be both artistic and civic.
At the entrance, each spectator will be given a “violence meter,” a reminder that raising awareness also involves concrete tools to identify signs of violence.
