UNUSUAL Iceland: $50.000 for ruining your photos | FAXINFO

What if your lack of talent finally became a sought-after quality? Icelandair is launching a rather unexpected marketing campaign : hire a “bad photographer” in order to carry out its next global advertising campaign.
The idea is simple, almost provocative. For ten days, The selected candidate will travel throughout Iceland, all expenses paid., with the mission of capturing images of the spectacular landscapes of the volcanic island. Glaciers, lava fields, waterfalls and black sand beaches will be his playground… or rather his playground for deliberate mistakes.
The company promises a reward of $50.000 (approximately €42.700) in addition to the fully paid stay. The ambition of this unconventional campaign is to demonstrate that even imperfect photos can reveal the raw beauty of Iceland.
But be aware, not everyone can apply. You must be at least 21 years oldCandidates must be able to participate in sometimes demanding outdoor activities and be authorized to travel to Iceland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The successful candidate will also have to agree to participate in filming and photo shoots during and after the trip.
In terms of profile, Icelandair is looking for candidates who readily acknowledge their clumsiness behind a lens: those who are regularly disappointed by their photos, surprised when an image is successful, or even fans of blurry and poorly framed shots.
To try their luck, candidates must answer six questions and send a one-minute video explaining how their “bad talent” is an asset. Applications are open until April 30th. on the company’s website: https://urls.fr/7ynkrn
One thing is for sure: in Iceland, even failures could end up as advertising masterpieces.
