This Wednesday, October 4, Météo France is keeping the Northern Islands on orange alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms, and lowering it to yellow alert for wind parameters.
At 5 a.m. this morning, the center of Tropical Storm Philippe was located approximately 420 km northwest of Saint-Martin. Météo France indicates that the storm is moving towards the north. However, its main activity is still located southeast of the center, between Puerto Rico and our islands and results in very numerous storms.
Heavy showers, sometimes stormy, may still occur, particularly in the morning. Significant accumulations could be observed (40 to 60 mm in a few hours).
Météo France maintains orange vigilance for heavy rain and thunderstorms, and drops to yellow vigilance for wind parameters (speeds of up to 25/35 km/h on average and 70 km/h in gusts) and waves-submersion (the sea s gradually dampens, the troughs falling below 2 meters during the day but are of an unusual southern sector).
Calms are expected during the day but renewed stormy activity is possible late in the day and overnight.
