In our region, dozens of dogs are waiting for a chance to escape the streets. Sometimes, this chance is as simple as a plane ticket. The Soualiga Animal Lovers association is urgently seeking travelers willing to escort an animal to Paris.
The principle is simple: if you're flying with Air Caraïbes from Grand-Case to Paris, with a stopover in Guadeloupe, become a dog escort. Everything is taken care of by the association, with no fees or complicated procedures. You pick up the animal in its cage at the Paris airport and take it out of the terminal, where someone will take care of it. A few minutes of your time are enough to transform the life of a dog, who will be able to join an adoptive family.
Becoming an escort means participating directly in a vital chain of solidarity that also frees up space to save other dogs left on the streets. In Saint-Martin, where stray animals remain a tragic reality, every escorted flight makes a difference.
Food collection and appeal for donations
This Saturday, October 4, animal protection associations are mobilizing in front of the Hope Estate Super U. From 10 a.m. to noon, I Love My Island Dog will collect kibble, pâtés, and other delights for our four-legged friends. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Soualiga Animal Lovers will take over to continue the collection. The needs are immense, and the call for donations is urgent: to feed the animals, but also to acquire cages, finance veterinary care, sterilizations, vaccinations, microchips, and the issuance of passports, essential for their legal adoption.
