ASSOCIATION / “Be a tourist at home”: a journey through time in the heart of Saint-Martin | FAXINFO

Rediscovering your island like a visitor is the goal of the “Be a tourist at home” event, organized by the ACS ZEPIN association Sunday, April 19th. For its 11e editionThis event invites residents to delve into the history of Saint-Martin, from the first traces of Native Americans to the contemporary era, through a guided tour rich in discoveries.
 
On the agenda for this morning, a bus tour connecting the two parts of the islandwith stops at iconic sites. Departure is scheduled for 9:15 am from Marigot, for a route that notably passes through the Fort-Louis, old sugar mill remains, the obelisk marking the border, Simpson Bay Bridge or the Lowlandsbefore returning around noon. Led by guides, participants will benefit from historical and cultural explanations throughout the route.
The experience is intended immersive and user-friendlypunctuated with quizzes, entertainment and a raffle, before continuing around a Creole lunch with local flavorsThe event, which highlights the island’s heritage and identity, enjoys consistent success, with a limited number of places and a Registration required before April 16th.
Following on from this initiative, ACS ZEPIN is already announcing the The 6th edition of its Cultural and Sporting Rally is scheduled for May 24th.confirming its commitment to promoting the territory and its history.
