At Sandy Ground, the Friendly Upcycling association continues its adventure between recycling, solidarity and transmission with a series of workshops open to all during the month of October. True to its mission of giving new life to abandoned materials while promoting local know-how, the structure led by Yolande Lambert continues to make each activity a moment of learning and sharing.
Le Tuesday, October 28, the local Mioches Carmont will host two complementary meetings: a Repair Café and animation carpentry, both from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. These exchange times will allow participants to learn about repair and woodworking, while discovering the spirit of mutual aid that drives the association.
The next day, Wednesday October 29, there will be a reading workshop around children's books "Lyana and Bolette”, created by Friendly Upcycling and whose collection will span twelve issues. Volume 2 “The Cry Beneath the Wave”, freshly released, extends the ecological adventures of the two mischievous little heroines with the same dose of humor and pedagogy. Enough to inspire budding readers who will all leave with a free book. The workshops, supplemented by the construction sites from October 23 and 30, are part of the association's philosophy: learn by doing, transmit by creating.
For those who like to sing, the next one karaoke Friendly Upcycling will take place on Thursday, November 6th from 19 p.m. to 23 p.m. at the Marigot Yacht Club (€10/reservation required). Through its projects, books, and workshops, the association proves that with a little imagination and a lot of heart, everything can be transformed, materials as well as mentalities. _Vx
