
Observing an animal that can’t be found anywhere else in the world: that’s the experience offered this Saturday, April 25th in Quartier d’Orléans. From 9am to 12pmThe association Les Fruits de Mer is organizing a new edition of the Endemic Animal Festival at the Amuseum Naturalis, a free event open to all.
The event showcases these rare species, unique to the island or the region. “Animals and plants endemic “They constitute the most unique part of the local nature,” recalls Jenn Yerkes, president of the association, inviting the public to come discover “a wonderful element of natural heritage” of Saint-Martin”.
Program : art workshops to decorate magnetic canvases with endemic plant and animal motifs to take home, a large treasure hunt in the museum gardens, scientific discovery, particularly around land snails, and free distribution of the book bilingual coloring and nature journal ‘Endemic around me’Designed by Mark Yokoyama, who still finds great pleasure in opening books to children, the book presents a quarantine of local species, including some iconic ones like the Anolis and the Galactia of Saint-Martin.
