Le Motorworld Group announced the appointment of Tariq Amjad as chairman of the board of directorsEffective November 21, 2025, he succeeds his father, Imran McSood Amjad, who held the position for many years. This transition marks a major milestone for one of the region’s largest automotive groups and opens a new phase of growth and expansion in the Caribbean.
Born and raised in Saint-MartinTariq Amjad is deeply rooted in the local community and the family’s entrepreneurial vision. After his university studies in the United States, he returned to the island to take over the management of Dollar Thrifty Car Rentalwhich he quickly developed into the Saint Martin’s premier car rental service.
While he was growing the rental business, his mother, Rena Amjad, and his brother, Reza Amjad, continued the rise of Motorworldlaying the foundations for what would become one of the most influential automotive groups in the Caribbean. Tariq then joined the automotive division, first as head of human resources, then as General managera position he held for many years.
In this position, he initiated a new dynamic at Motorworld : marketing innovations, development of new models, improvement of the customer experience and building the state-of-the-art showroom inaugurated in 2017. It also supports the group’s regional expansion strategy, by obtaining the Caribbean distribution of major Chinese brands experiencing rapid global growth. Today, Motorworld is positioning itself as a player on the rise towards becoming a Caribbean leader.
Upon becoming chairman of the board, Tariq was keen to acknowledge the family legacy:

I will continue to develop Motorworld in the Caribbean while remaining true to the values that have shaped us.”
Motorworld also confirms the continuation of Rena Amjad as general managerand the continued involvement ofImran McSood Amjad and Reza Amjad within the board of directors, ensuring continuity of governance and family vision.
