Vincent Berton, delegate prefect of the Northern Islands and Louis Mussington, president of the Collectivity, signed an amendment to the convergence and transformation contract (CCT) concluded between the State and the Collectivity of Saint-Martin on June 19.

This amendment makes it possible to extend this contract, which was initially planned for the 2023-2019 period, to 2022. It provides for an additional financial commitment from the State and the Collectivity to finance new projects in 2023:

• the State increases its participation by €10,4 million, bringing its total participation to €58,3 million for the entire contract;

• the Local Authority increases its participation by 13,4 million euros, which brings its total participation to 49,6 million euros for the entire contract.

An additional 23,8 million euros will thus be used to carry out the projects necessary for the development of the territory and the improvement of the quality of life of the population of Saint-Martin. • to build three premises (toilets, office, storage) within the grounds of the Sandy Ground, Friar's Bay and Quartier d'Orléans sports facilities;

• remove additional shipwrecks from Simpson Bay lagoon and other water bodies. Additional state subsidies are also provided for in this amendment for:

• reconstruction of Collège 600 in Quartier d'Orléans;

• rehabilitation of the media library;

• the transformation of the Soualiga college into a city of trades;

• the renovation and extension of drinking and waste water networks;

• implementation of the skills investment plan.
