Last Tuesday, customers of the Grand Case Beach Club had the pleasant surprise of attending two musical performances given by 20 students from the CHAM class at Soualiga college.
Organized by the Saint-Martin Tourism Club and the prestigious Grand-Case hotel establishment, this event made it possible to highlight young local talents as part of their educational trip to New York next September. Aged 13, the 20 students in the Music Schedule Class, including one from ULIS classes, are also part of the socio-educational center at Soualiga college. Carrier of this genius project, Antoine Grandemange, their music teacher accompanied on Tuesday by his partner, Annabelle Ducrot, hoped that these students would open their field of possibilities and their minds by introducing them to the Big Apple, a cosmopolitan and artistic city, at through shows, musicals and meetings with professionals. To complete his budget of €78.000 made from donations collected during charity concerts, Antoine chose to call on the Tourist Club. Véronique Legris, director of the latter, was made aware of the initiative: “We decided to participate in our measure to allow these children who are mainly at school or at home to experience this unique musically oriented opportunity. Today, we are highlighting them.” Beating the drum rhythmically, the students, from various social backgrounds, demonstrated a real pleasure in playing together.
