EDUCATION: Soualiga middle school students are academic runners-up in Guadeloupe | FAXINFO

Six students from Soualiga College proudly represented Saint-Martin during the academic cross-country race UNSS, organized on Wednesday, December 10th Baie-Mahaultin Guadeloupe. Having qualified after their victory in the UNSS cross-country race in the Northern Islands, the team of six middle school students, supervised by physical education teachers Erwan Chartois and Antoine Bielmanndistinguished herself by winning a remarkable second place in the junior team standings, out of twenty training programs involved.
The performance is all the more remarkable as it was achieved in particularly challenging weather conditions, on a course of just over 3km. Waterlogged and very muddy terrain complicated the race and tested the endurance and technique of the young athletes in 3th grade“They performed admirably, the conditions were very difficult,” emphasized Antoine Bielmann, noting that several falls did not diminish the group’s determination. Erwan Chartois added, “In conditions closer to those of Saint-Martin, the team could have aimed for first place,” stressing the potential demonstrated by the students.
Composed of three girls – Lou Villemin, Cléo Thomas, Bonnie Hodge – and three boys – Teyris Phibel Moïse, Jonas and Jérôme Carty (student athletes at CEES (in basketball) -, the team distinguished itself through its homogeneity, displaying decisive consistency in a format where the collective ranking takes precedence“This is the system we want to highlight,” Erwan reminded everyone.
Back on the island, the students were honored during a symbolic handover organized by the school principal, Benjamin Mora, yesterday morning. Since the official medals could not be awarded after the race, this recognition session provided an opportunity to publicly acknowledge their commitment and achievement.
This participation was also made possible thanks to the support from local partnersAmong them were Super U, One Love by K, PAC Distribution, and Espérance Optic. A wonderful sporting and human adventure that confirms the vitality of school sports in Soualiga and the talent of Saint Martin’s youth. _Vx
