EMPLOYMENT: Partnership signed between France Travail and the Sandy Ground boxing club | FAXINFO

Eight young people from Sandy Ground will soon be heading to Quebec for a 12-day professional immersion program, thanks to a partnership signed Sunday between France Travail, Ladom, and the Super Stars Boxing Association. The club also becomes the first on the island to receive the “Committed Sports Club” label.

Signed last Sunday during the club’s annual open house, this agreement is part of a professional reintegration program supported by France Travail, Ladom, and the Super Stars Boxing Association. These eight young people, registered with France Travail and supported by the club, will benefit from guidance and a work placement in Quebec at the beginning of June, in a company that aligns with their career goals.

This professional reintegration program with France Travail is the first in France to include a professional trip abroad as part of its curriculum. Thibaut Guilluy, Director General of France Travail, was present for the occasion during an official visit to Saint-Martin. He described this program, which includes international mobility, as an “innovation,” adding: “If the results are positive, there’s no reason why we couldn’t envision (the same program) in other regions of France.”

Created two years ago, the “Committed Sports Club” label is now held by more than 12,000 clubs in France. It recognizes sports associations involved in social initiatives promoting employment and professional integration. With this initiative, the Sandy Ground boxing club, chaired by Tony Alfred, becomes the first sports association on the island to receive this distinction. _DR
